As Marjo and I often talk about on the air, I love me some Coors Lights; however, a good break from alcohol every once in awhile can do wonders for you.
During the winter of 2018 when my wife was in treatment for breast cancer, I found myself drinking too much. A friend of mine recommended a wonderful book entitled “This Naked Mind: Control Alcohol” by Annie Grace.
While reading this book I found my perception of alcohol to change from a positive to a negative, resulting in a four month abstention.

1. OVERALL IMPROVED SLEEP
Alcohol can prevent R.E.M. sleep. You’ll fall asleep quicker; however, you’ll most likely awake in the middle of the night.
2. LESS ANXIETY
I run kind of on the anxious side anyway; however abstaining or consuming less alcohol, I find my anxiety level is way down. Alcohol is a depressant.
